Lee Cross Port Plugs are a plugging solution specifically engineered to seal cross port passageways. This configuration is a variant of the original Lee Plug® that set industry standards over 65 years ago. A smooth wall design combined with the field-proven controlled expansion principle creates a permanent, leak-proof seal, without the need for o-rings or sealants. Instal­lation is simple, reliable, and requires no maintenance. Lee Cross Port Plugs are constructed from 6Al -4V Titanium. They have been qualified for proof pressures over 20,000 psi and at temperatures up to 400°F. Configurations are available in 0.250, 0.281, and 0.343 inch diameters. Lee Cross Port Plugs are ideal for isolating sections of a fluidic manifold. They are typically used to plug long passageways created by deep hole drilling that are difficult to access with conventional sealing methods. Typical applications are found in down-hole oil drilling, wireline and completion tools.

Constructed entirely from MP35N and compliant with NACE MR1075/ISO15156, this multi-orifice restrictor is suited to handle the harsh duty applications typically found in the oil and gas industries. Utilizing a configuration that is similar to the existing stainless steel 250 H Bender Jet, this multi-orifice restrictor is designed to handle demanding system conditions, including high flow rates and large pressure drops. This low Lohm design uses three orifices in series to help lower fluid velocities and reduce the possibility of cavitation. In addition, this multi-orifice design offers a 40% increase in minimum passage size over a comparable single orifice restrictor. Lo-Lohm 3 Port Latching HDI Solenoid Valve

The Lee Company continues to expand its High Density Interface (HDI) solenoid valve platform by combining the high flow capabilities of the Lo-Lohm design with the power savings of the Latching design, all within a compact footprint. After supplying only a momentary (10 ms minimum) voltage pulse, this magnetically-latched solenoid valve will hold its flow state until a follow-on momentary voltage pulse (with reverse polarity) is applied to switch its flow direction. Aside from the momentary pulse, no power is consumed while maintaining each flow state. A good example of this is the development of a new line-mounted screen, the LEE HI-BAR® Wash Flow Safety Screen. This configuration features a high strength, drilled safety screen integrated within a T-fitting assembly. The main, unscreened flow travels straight through the fitting while fluid exiting through the T fitting end passes through the filter to critical components requiring additional protection. This design can be easily customised to meet a wide range of fitting envelope, material and screen hole size specifications

The Benefits
One of the important benefits of the HI-BAR Wash Flow Safety Screen is its one-piece smooth, internal surface. This eliminates risks associated with traditional wire mesh design filters that contain uneven surfaces and pockets within the pipe diameter which may potentially trap contaminants. Slots Versus Holes Improve Flow Through Safety Screens

Protecting components in critical fluids handling applications from the risks of blockages caused by unwanted contaminants is essential in helping to eliminate system failure and downtime. As a result of a special testing programme, The Lee Company is now able to offer custom designed safety screens with rectangular slots as an option instead of round holes. Tests revealed that HI-BAR safety screens with rectangular slots, as opposed to circular holes, provided significantly improved flow control. In the tests, two screens, one with 100u slots and one with 100u circular holes (with both screens having the same open area), were subjected to a flow test while introducing glass beads to simulate contamination. As the screens became clogged with the spherical particles, the results confirmed that the screen with the rectangular slots experienced a 50% less pressure drop compared to the screen with the holes.

Typical applications for this type of safety screen will include oil tool production where the likelihood of spherical particles (e.g. sand) could potentially lead to traditional types of safety screens clogging more easily than those with rectangular slots. Depending on size and material, they can withstand pressure differentials up to 7,500 psid, without rupture. The screens are manufactured in 17-4PH S/S with hole sizes ranging from 75 to 500 microns and are also available in brass for applications where resistance to corrosion and combustion is important and also in PEEK for use in medical and scientific applications. Custom designs are also available for more specific application requirements and the availability of rectangular slots significantly extends the capability of HI-BAR Safety Screens.

The Lee Company's new Zero Leak Solenoid Valve extends the sealing performance of the field proven pilot­ing solenoid valves. The valve seat incorporates a polymer seal to achieve zero leakage. High Pressure Micro Solenoid Valve for Completion Tools in Oil Wells

The Lee Company has developed a Reduced Diameter Solenoid Valve which has a maximum outside diameter of 0.550” (14mm) which is the same as an AA battery. In order to maintain the same power delivered by the coil, the length of the coil has been increased to 68mm. The solenoid valve is a single coil, 3 way, Normally Closed device, capable of operating up to 5,000psid at a maximum voltage of 32vdc and typically flowing 0.12USGPM at 200psid but could easily be designed as a Normally Open version. Typically these would be fitted into the annulus of a completion tool in an oil well where there is limited space available.
